Chandini Portteus is a seasoned, visionary and inspirational CEO who instills confidence for investors, clients and global constituents. Her well known rise to high-profile leadership roles began in the early phases of her career due to her demonstrated success during some of the most challenging and historically contentious scandals. Uniquely selected for key roles after public controversy and organizational setback, Chandini led forward boldly in resource-limited environments and orchestrated and exceeded financial targets. She starts and scales ventures, recruits well-known industry experts and ensures excellence in execution through high performing teams.
A highly regarded, globally recognized fundraiser, she is a relationship builder and collaborator with 400+ corporate partners. Chandini has a diverse, influential and charitable network of colleagues across disciplines, with unparalleled expertise, who join to lead alongside her with shared vision for impact. Chandini notably served as the turnaround President & CEO of Livestrong Foundation, Chief Mission Officer at Susan G. Komen Global Headquarters, and President & CEO of Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer. By her twenties and thirties, she oversaw more than $2B in investment in various mission initiatives across biotech, clinical trials, basic research, community outreach, education, technology, public policy and global programming.
Chandini became, and to this day remains, the youngest-seated C-level Officer in Komen’s 40+ year global history. In that decade, she oversaw a daily portfolio of $500M in public policy and programming across 125 domestic affiliates and work in 33 countries. As CEO of Livestrong, she made a $100M gift to the University of Texas to build the Livestrong Cancer Institutes, while expanding services to survivors across the globe. As CEO at Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, Chandini doubled revenue and quality partnerships in her first six months. Chandini worked collaboratively with bipartisan leadership and the founding board to establish the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to successfully bring $6B to Texas for cancer funding. She served as an advisor for the state and also post-presidency public health initiatives, such as the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) for 12 years. Chandini was recognized for her achievements with numerous awards, including the Dallas Business Journal’s 40 under 40, honoring not only accomplishments that year, but for her roles held and record progress set in her career.
Accolades aside, Chandini’s most rewarding role is that of a mother of four school age children, who are also the source of her passion for the global launch of a portfolio of companies. As an Asian Indian immigrant to the United States, a schoolgirl in STEAM studies, an early career female executive, board member, and a CEO and single parent of two boys and two girls, Chandini has encountered and conquered numerous obstacles. Chandini places significant priority in providing a safe place for others to speak up, asking leaders to listen to learn, and to lead to action and change. Chandini’s passion and reputation has established a strong foundation on which to call on her network of global influence to join her in this charge, ensuring that barriers will not impede progress. In this historic time of need, she is poised to lead boldly as a tenacious and fearless advocate for all.
